Iceland Ice Climbing – Spend an Unforgettable Day on the Ice

ice climbing in icelandAfter arrival at the meeting point, your guide provides you with good hiking shoes, hard enough for ice climbing which is really important. You will also be given crampons to safely walk on the glacier and an ice axe to help you. Discover this large glacier tongue and all its secrets. Learn about the different ice formations and the reasons why they are shaped this way. Understand how to differentiate old and new ice, check some crevasses, mills and waterfalls withing the glacier and so much more.

Your guide will then find a good spot to initiate you to ice climbing. Listen to his advice and try yourself! Try maybe another spot, a bit more challenging? The glacier walk and ice climbing is a special tour full of adventures within a small group setting (maximum 6 persons per guide). This gives you more time for questions and exchanges with your guide and your fellow travelers. But also more time to walk, climb, discover, stop, rest and enjoy the view.
