Dog Sledding in Iceland – Winter Adventure in Akureyri

Dog sledding is a must-do activity for any traveller, but especially so for dog-lovers. Traveling by the power of dogs is a remarkable experience. This can be tranquil at some times, and exhilarating at others. Join this dog sledding tour in Akureyri and enjoy a unique experience as a musher.

Experience a unique way to travel by letting dogs take you through the amazing landscape of North Iceland. It is a fantastic way to experience nature and silence. This is an exciting once in a lifetime adventure where you control the sled under the supervision of an experienced musher.

You, as a musher, will be actively working while steering the sled in order to support the Huskies. No experience is needed and you will get a detailed introduction at the beginning of your tour. A small group ensures a personal experience with the dogs.

Maximal 6 participants are joining the tour and 2 sleds are used on the trip. That means, 2 guests can be steering their own sled at the same time. The whole tour takes 3 to 4 hours and every participant has approximately 1-hour dog sledding activity. When you are not on the sled, you can take pictures and enjoy the landscape.

It is possible to book entrance to the SPA after the dogsledding tour. The SPA has an outdoor jacuzzi (see picture), a finnish sauna and a relaxation hall with swinging Spa lounges.
