Horse Riding South Iceland – Easy Tour Close to Hella

If you are not sure whether horseback riding is really your thing, but still would consider giving it a try, then this is the right tour for you. The experience gives you the unique chance to get to know the remarkable Icelandic horse and explore, whilst riding, the beautiful landscape along with professionals, your guarantee of a unique adventure.

Horseback riding in Iceland is one of the most unique activities you can join, as the Icelandic horse is like no other, especially with its five gaits. In this tour, you will get to know all about the Icelandic horse from the enthusiastic hosts; a local family. The horses are well-trained and they have a horse for every level of experience. There is a maximum of six people in each group, which makes the experience personal and unique. First, you will meet and get to know the horses in the stable. Then you will receive instructions and a short trial session in the riding hall – to check if you feel confident with your horse. You will leave the stable once you are ready. The ride takes about an hour, and the tracks are broad and easy for the horses, which means that you can enjoy the marvelous scenery of glaciers and volcanoes around you.

After the tour, you can enjoy a hot drink, have a chat with your guide and/or have another glance at the stables. It is possible to adapt the tour to different levels if e.g. you are skilled riders and would appreciate an „off-the-beaten-track“ type of experience. So, this tour is perfect for beginners as well as experienced riders, who may also want to try the famous „tölt“. Don‘t worry, you will also learn more about „tölt“ from your guide!
