This guided Reykjavik walking tour is the perfect first encounter to the capital of Iceland. Alongside a fair share of walking, you will experience a one-of-a-kind museum, a few local treats and finally a very nice lunch by the old harbor, accompanied by some beer tasting. During these 3-4 hours you will also gain plenty of knowledge from your local guide whilst strolling through our beautiful city.

guided walk ReykjavikThe meeting point of this tour is by the entrance of Perlan (The Pearl), the spaceship-looking building located on the top of Öskjuhlíð. First up, your guide will lead you and your small group up to the observation deck of Perlan, where you will experience fantastic views of the city. You will then be enlightened with various info on our graceful surrounding mountains as well as other iconic parts of the city‘s outskirts and nature.

Next, you will walk through one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Reykjavík and to Klambratún park, where your first Icelandic delicasy awaits. This is the largest green area in the city center, where you‘ll find e.g. basketball and disc golf courts, playgrounds and more. Reykjavik walkFrom there you will make your way to Laugavegur. It is our main shopping street, also filled with restaurants, coffee houses and design shops. Then you will be visiting a very unique museum, to say the least. After about 20 minutes at the museum, you will be visiting an Icelandic bakery where many would say; make the best cinnamon buns on the planet. Sink your teeth in to see if you agree with the masses.

Next up, you will tread up to Hallgrímskirkja church, probably the most iconic landmark of the city, take some pictures and witness the insides of this phenomenal architecture. Reykjavik walking tour with foodThen, you will head down Skólavörðustígur street for some delicious cheese and meat tastings. Your final stop of this tour will be a small and cosy restaurant by the old Reykjavík harbour. On your way there your guide will provide some historic knowledge on the city and you are of course welcome to bombard him/her with questions. If anyone wants to make a stop at the 66°c North store for some Icelandic clothing and/or accessories, your guide will provide you with a discount card.

At the restaurant you will then feast on a delightful two course menu and taste three different local beers. After this delicious meal, and tour in general, you will say goodbye to your guide and fellow travelers.

If you left your car by the Pearl, there are shuttles departing from Harpa leaving every 30 minutes.
