You will meet your glacier guide in Skaftafell and together you will embark in this unique experience.From Skaftafell you will drive for approximately 15 minutes to Falljökull which is a glacier tongue of the great and majestic Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. The drive is very scenic and from the it takes approximately 30 minutes to reach the glacier. There, you will clearly see the influence of global warming upon these precious shimmering white giants.

Hike on Falljökull glacier and learn all about the origins of this stunningly beautiful natural formation. Your experienced and knowledgeable guide will accompany you through crevasses,  sumptuous ice labyrinths  and glacier mills. Surrounded and embraced by the grandiose glacier, you will feel the power and geological history behind  these fascinating mass of ice and land.

You will spend approximately 1 hour on the glacier, an easy walk that guarantees a true astonishing adventure. Your English-speaking  guide will share its knowledge with you. You will learn – among many other things – that you are walking on a living. moving glacier. Vatnajökull is, in fact, not a static mass of ice but an active, continuously changing, dynamic force of nature.
