Home / Day Tours / South Iceland / Iceland Private South Coast Day Tour
During this Iceland private south coast tour, you visit one of the country’s most scenic regions. Along the way, you will visit gorgeous waterfalls, enjoy stunning views of glaciers, and visit the famous black sand beach in Vík. This day tour gives you a comprehensive overview of the natural highlights Iceland has to offer.
In the morning your private guide picks you up from your accommodation in Reykjavík and drives with you to the South of Iceland. First stop is the beautiful waterfall Seljalandsfoss. You should take the opportunity to enjoy a 360° view of the waterfall as it is possible to walk behind it if you are wearing good shoes and don’t mind the light drizzle. You will also stop at the majestic and much-photographed Skógafoss waterfall, with its 60m drop. Above the waterfalls looms the mighty Eyjafjallajökull where the great volcanic eruption took place in 2010.
You continue to Vík, the southernmost part of Iceland, with the black sand coastline and impressive Reynisdrangar rock formations. On the way back to Reykjavík you will have a look at the impressive glacier Sólheimajökull. It is also possible to add an adventurous glacier tour to this tour. You can select a 1-hour snowmobiling tour (plus 1-hour super jeep transportation to the glacier) or a glacier hike to this private tour. In the late afternoon, your private guide drives you back to Reykjavík.
