Holidays to Greenland for 4 days – East Greenland

East Greenland is an isolated and very special place. Although it is just a short flight from Iceland here you come closest to original Greenland. The town of Tasiilaq lies just South of the Arctic Circle and offers plenty of possibilities to travelers. Visit breathtaking ice fjords, go on an unforgettable whale watching tour, see an impressive fjord filled with icebergs or go on a wonderful day hike and explore the area around Tasiilaq. There are numberless reasons to go for unforgettable holidays to Greenland.

We recommend booking a Greenland tour as early as possible as availability is limited and prices for flights normally raise during the year. In the morning you take a flight from Reykjavík to Kulusuk located on Greenland’s beautiful East Coast. The flight takes only 90 minutes and on a clear day you can see icebergs from above. A helicopter brings you from Kulusuk to Tasiilaq which is only 20 kilometers away. Have a look at your hotel and explore the charming town in the afternoon. We recommend to visit the Ammassalik Museum located in the town‘s old church. The museum has a collection of traditional artifacts ranging from Kayaks to wooden masks. Enjoy the colorful Greenlandic houses and have a look at the small harbor in the city center. Interesting is also a visit of the local supermarket. In the evening you will have a welcome dinner in the restaurant of your accommodation.

Interesting is also a whale watching tour where you have the chance to see minke whales, humpback whales and fin whales. You can also go on hike and explore the surroundings of Tasiilaq on your own.
