Home / Day Tours / South Iceland / Iceland ATV Tour – Panorama Tour on Reykjanes Peninsula
Looking for a fun way to spend your time in Iceland? This 1 hour ATV tour takes you for an adventure around Reykjanes peninsula. The peninsula is located on a drift zone, where the North American and the Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart. It is a unique site where you can find different elements of geothermal energy, lava fields, and other natural phenomena. Driving an ATV is a fantastic way to experience nature and have fun while doing so!
The tour takes you through lava fields and black sand areas. You’ll ride through rocky mountain paths towards the summit of our ATV trailed Mt. Hagafell where you’ll have a 360° panoramic view over the area. You’ll be able to see the Blue Lagoon, volcanic craters and overlook Mt. Fagradalsfjall where the historic US military airplane crashed during the WW2 and much more. On the way back, you will drive to an old harbor where you will find dramatic shipwrecks and over hundred-year-old foundations that remain unspoiled.
You can choose between meeting your guide on location or have a pick-up and drop-off from Keflavík International airport or your hotel in Reykjavík.
The ATV tour is 1 hour long if you choose to meet your guide on location. If you choose a pickup and drop off from Reykjavík the tour is 2 ½ – 3 hours long in total. If you are looking for a short activity to add to your self-drive tour or have a half a day to spend during your Iceland stopover this is a perfect choice for you.
