Enter an impressive super jeep and just behind Vík you will leave the regular road and will follow a rough mountain road for approximately 40 minutes. When you arrive at the glacier, your guide will provide you with all the necessary equipment such as a helmet and crampons. After a short safety instruction and a 20 to 30 minutes walk, you will reach Katla ice cave. In the cave, blue ice meets volcanic ash from the former eruptions of Katla volcano. The views are truly spectacular with amazing black ice as well as some blue ice features.
