DRIVING DISTANCE
About your day

The first stop on the second day of your exploration is Jökulsárlón, the famous glacier lagoon. It‘s 200m deep and the view of the icebergs floating on its surface is breathtaking. They‘re constantly moving and breaking off the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, which is an outlet of the biggest glacier in Europe – Vatnajökull. The view gets even more magical during wintertime when the sun stays low on the horizon for the whole day. Just on the opposite side of the road, you‘ll be headed to the so-called Diamond Beach. The icebergs from the glacier lagoon move towards the ocean and once they reach it, they‘re quickly thrown back to the shore broken into smaller pieces. Next, you will be up to the highlight of the whole tour – you‘ll get to explore the amazing Katla Ice Cave! You‘ll be led by an experienced guide who‘ll be sharing his vast knowledge about this natural wonder. The ice formations are breathtaking and it‘s one of those sights that are going to stay with you for a long time. After two days packed with activities and richer in experience, you‘ll be headed back to Reykjavik.
