Logistics handled, so you don't have to
Coordinating accommodation and vehicles for a group across multiple stops in Iceland is complicated. Rooms need to suit different configurations, vehicles need to fit the group, and everything needs to line up at each stop along the way. Your Travel Consultant handles all of that as a single booking. You travel. They sort the details.

Iceland through a child's eyes
Puffins nesting in clifftops. A geyser erupting every few minutes. Horses that look nothing like the ones back home. Icebergs floating past a black sand beach. Iceland has a way of landing differently for younger travelers, and your Travel Consultant knows which stops work best for which ages.
The Golden Circle, the South Coast, and the glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón are all easy to reach from the road and genuinely engaging for children. The pace is yours. Stop when something captures everyone's attention. Stay as long as you want.
Every itinerary is a starting point
None of the tours on this page are fixed. Your Travel Consultant can adjust the route, swap stops, add activities suited to the ages in your group, or build something from scratch. If someone in the group has specific needs, whether that's a slower pace, accessibility requirements, or a must-see that isn't on the standard route, tell us and we'll work it in.

Frequently asked questions
Find answers to your questions about our tours and travel experiences in Iceland and beyond.
Is Iceland a good destination for families with young children?
Iceland works very well for families with children. Puffins, horses, geysers, waterfalls, and the Northern Lights all land well with younger travelers. The self-drive format means you stop when the children need to, spend longer where they're engaged, and move on when they're done. Your Travel Consultant will build the itinerary around the ages in your group.
What is the best Iceland itinerary for a multi-generational group?
The South Coast and Golden Circle work well for mixed age groups because the key attractions are close to the road and easy to reach from the car park. The Ring Road suits groups with more time and older children. Your Travel Consultant will design the route around the ages, energy levels, and interests of everyone traveling.
How does Iceland Unlimited handle accommodation for family groups?
Family rooms and interconnecting rooms are not reliably available across Iceland. Your Travel Consultant arranges multiple standard rooms suited to your group configuration at every stop. All accommodation is verified before the trip and coordinated as a single booking rather than left to the group to sort individually.
How far in advance should we book a family trip to Iceland?
Nine to twelve months ahead is recommended for family and multi-generational groups. Getting the right combination of rooms and vehicles at each stop takes time, particularly in summer when Iceland is busiest. The earlier your Travel Consultant can start planning, the more options you'll have.
Can we travel to Iceland with elderly grandparents?
Yes, with the right itinerary. Your Travel Consultant will design around the mobility and energy levels of everyone in the group, choosing stops that are accessible and manageable for older travelers without compromising what the younger members want to see. Iceland has a lot to offer at a comfortable pace.
